Fred On The Move

Phew! Finally I got started with the blog. I am no computer wizard. To put it simply and honestly, I am a bit phobic with computers though I have been at it for the past 15 years. I promise my dear daughter Yihui I will start a blog as soon as I can find the time to do it.

I have just change profession from a Project Manager to a, whadayaknow, cab driver and have been at it for the past 3 weeks. Yeah, it's taxing physically, especially on the knees (always in bent position), eyes (tendency to lose focus, especially at night as I have a bit of astimism but still managable), constantly looking to answer nature's call (particularly at night due to the cooler weather. For this reason I tend to drink less water. If not I would be sending myself to the washroom more often than sending my passenger to their destination), hunger (luckily wife always pack an apple and light snacks as standby).

So tired today as dear wife is sick. Lucky today is my off-day if not I don't know what will happen to her. Brought her to a neighbourhood doctor in the morning, Surprising medical fees is $34, well below my expectation of around $80 because there is an injection as well as 3 medicines. She has been sleeping since morning 11.30am. She needed the rest as she would wake up every time I come back from work to help me count the daily takings and record the account.

I need a rest now and will follow up with more postings, probably later in the night when I am refreshed.

Cheers

Wow, Papa! You really did set up a blog. We can now communicate through this. I have not called back much. Many thanks to the 8hour time difference. :(

Cab driving, as of most professions, have its advantages and drawbacks I guess.

Let's see. What does it takes to be a good cab driver:
-Have a good sense of directions
-Be observant and have a keen eye for spotting passengers esp when they are camouflaged in the dark
-Good social skills
-Get out of jams quickly

Having to stay in the cab for long hours would lead to a lack of proper exercise. Maybe Papa should try to slip in some light exercises a week. It'll be good for your health, especially with your hypertension. Heard from Mummy you are driving at rather unearthly hours. Do have lots of rest before driving. :)

I'm sure Papa will be a good taxi-driver. Taxi-driving is a self fulfiling job. And at least it's pressure from yourself, not from others. (^.^)

Mummy's sick? Oh dear. What happen? Do sent her my regards. I will try to call back during the weekends. :)Hugs

Miss you lots!

Actually I was waiting for you to help me set up, but after some thought, I decided to give it a short. Never know how easy it was to set up.

I tell you ah, I am guilty about the sense of direction part. The other comments is the natural part of me.

Yeah, I do exercise regularly. We have the Oto Machine at home, remember? I also play squash at least weekly. Besides, everytime there is an opportunity to break, I will get out of hte cab to stretch my legs, so no worries. When I am tired, I will find somewhere to rest and leave my radio call on in case there is a current call booking.

Mummy seems better this morning. She will be going for a cruise with her lady boss tonight and back on Sunday morning.

I will be driving today from 12noon to Sunday 12noon. That's 48hrs shift. I will see if there's anything newsworthy to post when I am back on Sunday. Cab drivers do encounter many strange things on the road. Sometimes we can't help overhearing what the passengers are talking.

Okay, that's all for today. Gotta go clean myself up and change for duty call.

Aiyah Yj, I am trying to catch up with technology mah.

Don't worry too much about your exams. Try to relax as long as don't become lazy.

Do try to find time to call back whenever you are free.

Looks like heavy rain is in sight. I am going for shower now before my duty call is up at 12noon. Will be back on Sunday 12noon. Mummy will be going on cruise with her lady boss and also back on Sunday morning.

Cheers.

Haha Papa the British here always use Cheers too.

Anyway, the Oto machine is for toning and strengthening, but if you looking for some weight losing exercise, I would propose jogging! BRisk walking for at least 30 minutes help too. Haha. And do avoid the butterfly fritters and DURIANS!Remember the time when you sneaked up a butterfly fritter and I almost expose you to Mummy.

12noon to Sunday 12noon? That's like driving for an entire day? Hmm ,have lots of rest after that.

I dreamt of something really wierd this morning. I dreamt that I heard that gugu is in the hospital, but I couldn't go back in time. But, it turned out it's Popo who is in there for four days. I woke up after that. Disturbing.

Wow, Mummy is going on a cruise. We used to go on cruises quite a bit last time. But guess we're just busy people now. Ask her to enjoy herself though:)

In any way, do post more about your cab adventures. And also do do take care of yourself and mummy and gugu. Do keep me updated with xiaogu too. :)And don't worry about me. I am very well here.
